This process is kind of hard and should be done ASAP. This is what you need:
1. Certificate of Enrollment (original)
2. Passport
3. Passport photo
4. Copy of Passport and Visa
I used the instructions from Alex Chen's (previous Freeman Scholar) blog for getting to the Seoul Immigration Office. Here were the instructions:
Seoul Immigration Office (Omokgyo Station via line 5) Get on to line 2 going to Yeoungdongpo Office station from Mullae, transfer to Line 5, get off at Omokgyo station and find exit 7. After exiting exit 7, keep walking straight for about 10 mins and you will see Audi dealership on the right side and sidewalk begins to turn right . Follow side walk and keep walking straight.
This was super useful and doing it before orientation definitely saved a lot of time because all the students would be there after orientation day.
This is the auditorium full of international students! The total was over 800, but I think there were about 300 students at this event. The orientation was kind of long and gave us more information on registration. Each person was distributed an acceptance package which included his/her student ID that can be used as a T-money card (so you actually don't need to buy one!!!) We learned about the library and how to use it. I found the introduction of the clubs to be useful because they talked about the events that they would be hosting for international students. They also had two students present about their experiences and culture shock which was very helpful as well. I am looking forward to meeting my buddy and getting involved with the different organizations.
